What is Dynamics NAV
Dynamics NAV: a trusted system that has reached a turning point
Dynamics NAV, once called Navision, runs the finance, stock, sales, purchasing and production of thousands of mid-sized companies. Microsoft has replaced it with Dynamics 365 Business Central.
NAV earned its place by being quick to set up and easy to adapt. The trouble is that new tax rules, security needs and integrations now arrive faster than an older system can follow. The good news is that Business Central keeps the NAV feel, so your team will not start from zero.

Why upgrade
Six reasons NAV companies are moving to Business Central
Not a rewrite. A step forward on the same foundations.
Microsoft support again
Regular security fixes and updates, so you stop carrying the risk on your own.
Cloud or on-premises
Run it in Microsoft’s cloud or on your own servers, and change your mind later if needed.
Updates without projects
New versions arrive on a schedule, instead of one big upgrade project every few years.
Built-in Power BI and Power Platform
Dashboards, approvals and small apps connect without heavy custom code.
Ready for e-invoicing
ZATCA Phase 2 is handled in your plan, not left for later.
Work from anywhere
Staff reach the system in a browser or on mobile, in the office or on site.
Side by side
NAV today and Business Central tomorrow

What is Microsoft Dynamics NAV?
Microsoft Dynamics NAV, formerly Navision, is a business management system for small and mid-sized companies. It covers finance, sales, purchasing, stock, manufacturing, projects and service. Its successor is Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Is Dynamics NAV the same as Business Central?
Business Central grew out of NAV and keeps its core ideas, so NAV users find it familiar. The difference is how it is built, delivered and updated. Business Central runs in the cloud or on your own servers, gets regular updates from Microsoft and is customised through extensions instead of changes to the base code.
Is Dynamics NAV still supported?
Older NAV versions are already past Microsoft’s support dates, and the newest ones are on extended support, which covers security fixes only and no new features. Dates differ by version, so we confirm yours during a short assessment.
Can we upgrade straight from NAV to Business Central?
Yes. Most companies upgrade by moving data, rebuilding customisations as extensions and testing reports and integrations. We review your setup first and tell you what to keep, change or drop.
What happens to our customisations?
NAV customisations often change Microsoft’s own code, which Business Central does not allow. We rebuild the ones you still need as extensions, and retire those that standard Business Central now covers.
Can NAV or Business Central handle ZATCA e-invoicing?
Yes. We connect your system to ZATCA through an e-invoicing layer, such as our ezInvoice solution, so invoices are signed, reported and archived correctly in Phase 1 and Phase 2.
Should we use Business Central in the cloud or on our servers?
Cloud is simpler to run and always up to date. On-premises gives you more control over where data sits. We explain the trade-offs for your business and Saudi data rules, then you decide.
Do you support Dynamics NAV in Riyadh and the GCC?
Yes. Our head office is in Riyadh. We support NAV and Business Central customers across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
